Whilst photographing discarded umbrellas which lie scattered on our streets, I have sometimes considered them as small sculptures as they lay erected tent-like, or redundantly hanging from railings or shrubbery.

By producing photo-polymer etchings from these photographs I found that the resulting
prints portrayed vivid landscapes. I have combined these landscape prints with the umbrella to form a book-like structure, with the found umbrella containing, and referring to, landscapes in which it may continue to be discarded and found again.
