My work expresses how I feel about the landscape of Snowdonia. I try to let the images evolve from thoughts, memories and emotions.

The book consists of 12 black and white images using three different print methods – linocut, collograph and etching. I find that the linocut method works well with these images, reducing them to stark elemental landscapes. I also find creating images in this way therapeutic, it is a meditative and repetitive activity which takes me back to these places as I work.

Watercolour paper was used for the printed pages and the design on the handmade paper of the cover appears to be a cross between an animal print and the landscape. The leather strips binding everything together gives the book the inherent natural look I required.
