The inspiration for my etchings comes from my recreational walks through
the Gwydyr Forests of North Wales. My intentions are to share
these experiences by evoking inquisitiveness about the forest and its
inhabitants and by luring the viewer into the lively but hidden forest
floor environment of insects and bugs. In my practice I am exploring a
combination of mark making, painterly effects, rich darks and starkly
contrasting lights to enhance the drama and sense of wonder Spiders Lair (left) - Sewn and bound etchings.H11xW10 cm. Ed. 5. 2007 Forest Insects (right) - Collaged etchings on Somerset
